Yalda (winter solstice, 21 December) celebrates the longest night of the year with pomegranate, watermelon, poetry and good company. Nowruz, the Persian New Year at the spring equinox, is celebrated with sabzi polo ba mahi and the haft-sin table. Celebration nights are announced on this page.
